About me
I’m Angelos Papamichail, an Electrical and Computer Engineer who builds software for the people running a service or doing a job.
At an agricultural cooperative, I worked on repetitive ERP data entry and wrote a browser extension to automate it. For UniTrip, I built booking and payment workflows and the back office behind them. At Ardas Youth Festival, the problem was getting approved photos onto the venue screen despite unreliable Wi-Fi.
Through Google Summer of Code 2026, I built Greek speech-recognition training and evaluation tools for OpenCouncil. The work included checking whether an apparent improvement survives a fair comparison, and recording why a model should stay out of production when it fails that test.
Recent projects include photo2stitch, which turns photos into embroidery files with a thread-colour job sheet, and interactive digital-skills lessons for older adults. Teaching helps me notice the steps that seem obvious to a developer but leave a user stuck.
I work mainly in Python, Go and TypeScript. I’m interested in software engineering, applied AI and automation roles where I can understand the problem, build the system and help people use it. Outside work, I subtitle films, play piano, swim and volunteer.
