About Me

Hey there! ๐Ÿ‘‹ Link to heading

I’m Angelos, a software developer from Northern Greece with a passion for building things that make a difference.

The Short Version Link to heading

I’m an Electrical and Computer Engineer (MEng, AUTH) who fell in love with web development somewhere along the way. These days, I spend most of my time writing Go, Python, and TypeScript, usually with SvelteKit, Svelte, or Vue on the frontend, and increasingly with AI/LLM in the mix.

Right now I’m a Google Summer of Code 2026 contributor and active maintainer on OpenCouncil โ€” fine-tuning an open-source Greek speech-to-text model so the people who review council transcripts have fewer errors to fix by hand. On the side, I’m founder of two startups: PulseCheck (genuinely anonymous employee surveys) and SkipQ (QR ordering for hospitality).

What Drives Me Link to heading

I get excited about projects where technology solves real problems. Whether it’s helping an elderly person learn to use a computer safely and spot online scams, making public health appointments easier to discover with FindDoctors Aggregator, building travel booking flows for UniTrip.gr, or designing SkipQ as a local-first QR ordering system for hospitality, I love seeing my code make someone’s day a little easier.

I’m a big believer in:

  • Keep it simple - The best solution is often the simplest one
  • Local-first - Build for reliability, not just connectivity
  • Automation - If I’m doing something twice, I’ll probably script it
  • Useful data - Analytics should help people make better operational decisions

Beyond Code Link to heading

When I’m not coding, you’ll find me:

  • โ™Ÿ๏ธ Playing chess
  • ๐ŸŽน Learning piano
  • ๐ŸŽฌ Subtitling films (yes, I built a tool for that)
  • ๐ŸŠ Swimming when the weather allows

What I’m Looking For Link to heading

I’m open to opportunities in Full-Stack, Backend, or DevOps roles. I work well in startups and smaller teams where I can wear multiple hats. Remote or hybrid works best for me, and I’m open to both Greek and international companies.
